Testimonials - creative mentoring
I had a creative mentoring session with Jo, which came at exactly the right time. Over the past year I’d been fortunate to receive both a QEST Scholarship and Arts Council DYCP funding, enabling me to develop my practice and begin making larger sculptural pieces. This opened up so many exciting possibilities and I found myself unsure which direction to take and how best to move forward.
Jo took the time to really look at my work as a whole. Through thoughtful discussion and by asking the right questions, she helped me focus on what I truly wanted to achieve. Her insight gave me clarity and a plan for moving forward.
I came away feeling excited and with a strong sense of direction. I would highly recommend Jo to anyone who needs space, perspective, and practical guidance to help shape the next stage of their creative practice.

I’ve been working with Jo for around two years now. Our regular sessions are really enjoyable and provide me with much needed focus and completion points.
Jo is a very grounded person and sensitive to one’s creativity. Her sessions hold space for me to discuss my work with an experienced jeweller without being told what to do. Discussing my thought processes with her is so helpful. Jo is not afraid to tackle me when she sees that a re-focus is needed. Her questions create the space for me to find the right path for myself.
If you’ve not had mentoring before I can highly recommend it. Working with Jo as a creative mentor was a first and I now find it essential to the journey that I’m on as a Jeweller.
