Work with me…

… to create a one-of-a-kind piece that encapsulates your essence, your story.

It’s a conversation. We’ll talk over your ideas – whether an iteration of one of my signature works, or a transformation of your unworn, mismatched or heirloom jewels. Together we’ll tease out what’s really important to you.

STEP

1.

Start the conversation…

…by contacting me to arrange a meeting – online or in my studio in East Sussex.

We’ll talk about your wishes, your dreams, what you want the jewellery to express, the occasion, or the person to celebrate. I’ll listen and I’ll guide you. We’ll discuss what materials to source, or whether we’ll create a fresh, contemporary context for your unworn, mismatched, vintage or heirloom pieces.

We’ll establish a budget and a timeline.

STEP

2.

Continue the discussion…

…whether you choose to commission an iteration of a signature piece, or to collaborate on a personal, poetic approach that preserves memories and weaves your narrative using vintage or heirloom pieces, I’ll research ideas, make annotated sketches, photo-collages or models that encapsulate our conversation and distil your desires.

I’ll present these to you online, at my studio in East Sussex, or we can arrange to meet in central London.

STEP

3.

Final refinements…

…will be presented to you either by email and conversation or in an online meeting.

When you’re happy with your design and all the details – the elements to be included, metal choices, costs and timeframe – you’ll choose to commission me and a deposit will be paid.

I’ll photograph your jewels before I remove the stones, melt gold into an ingot, and start to do what I do best.

STEP

4.

Your commission…

…will be handmade, by me, in my studio. Occasionally, I work with trusted colleagues with specialist skills. If so, you’ll be informed beforehand. I’ll keep in touch to let you know how things are progressing. I like to allow around twelve weeks for making, including hall marking. Each piece of jewellery will bear my Maker’s Mark, together with metal fineness, date and the Leopard mark of the London Assay Office.

STEP

5.

Upon completion…

…of your one-of-a-kind, bespoke jewellery, I’ll get in touch, and you’ll make the final balance payment. You’re most welcome to collect in person, otherwise I’ll package your jewellery carefully and despatch it to you by insured Royal Mail Special Delivery, to arrive by 1pm the following working weekday, at your convenience.

So, if you’d like to discuss a commission, whether a twist on one of my signature pieces, or a personal Jewel Narrative piece…
