Terms and Conditions

Thank you!

As an independent artist jeweller, every sale of work is important to me, as is your experience, so thank you for choosing to purchase. So far the scenarios outlined below have not occurred, but it’s best to have it in writing.

Order Acknowledgement

Your order will be acknowledged by an email generated by the website.

Order Confirmation

Your order will subsequently be confirmed by me, by email as soon as possible. If you receive an email advising that I cannot accept your order it will be for one of the following reasons: that the item is no longer available; that the payment cannot be authorised; that the item is not as described or that the price has changed. Please be assured that these scenarios are highly unlikely.

Availability

Everything on this website is handmade and thus unique, even when part of a small series. It is possible that the exact piece may have been sold prior to your order, or it may be in an exhibition and thus temporarily unavailable. If this is the case, you will be advised as soon as possible and appropriate arrangements will be made.

Despatch

Stock items will usually be despatched within 2 - 3 working days, sometimes quicker.

If you have purchased an item that is not in stock you will be advised how long it will take to make and when you might expect it to be despatched.

If your item is required by a particular date, for a special occasion, please do get in touch before ordering.

Delivery

All UK orders are insured (up to £2,500) and sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, for delivery on the next working week day. A tracking number will be supplied to you via email when your order has been dispatched. Deliveries will require a signature so please bear this in mind when providing a delivery address. In the event that nobody is available to receive your item, a card will usually be left giving you the option to have the item redelivered or to collect your parcel from your local collection Post Office depot.

For delivery outside the UK the options are Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed (insured up to £250) usually between 5 - 7 days, but possibly longer at present. For more valuable items, a courier service will be used and delivery time will depend on the destination and local Customs clearance times. From £50 depending on the value of your order.

A tracking number will be supplied to you via email when your order has been dispatched.

Items valued over £250 for International delivery will be sent by insured courier service. If you require International Priority service there will be an additional charge of £50 - £100 depending on value, please enquire.

Charges

Any import duties, sales taxes or other import costs incurred at the point of entry into the destination country are the responsibility of the customer.

Packaging

Your order will be dispatched in unbranded external packaging. The jewellery is packaged in a branded jewellery box and protected by tissue paper.

Returns

In the unlikely event that your goods arrive in a faulty condition or damaged I will give an exchange or full refund, provided that goods are returned to me in the condition sent. If you do not inform me in writing within 7 days of receipt of the item(s), I shall not be liable for any item(s) said to be faulty. Wilful, malicious damage or negligence will void any rights you have to take advantage of my refund or exchange policy.

Items purchased online will be subject to a refund minus the cost of the delivery method used, provided that the items are received back in their original condition and original packaging within fourteen days of delivery. You must notify me by email that you wish to return the item within seven days of delivery to you and before goods are sent back to me.

Please note: this policy does not include earrings, which are non-returnable for hygiene reasons, nor to any item which has been customised or personalised to order. I am also unable to accept any items which have been worn or returned in a condition that renders them unsaleable.

Returns are only offered for stock items that are returned within 14 days of purchase. Customers may either exchange for another piece of jewellery or ask for a credit note. All items being returned must be carefully repacked in their original packaging and be delivered to me in an unworn and saleable condition.

A partial refund (minus delivery costs) will be made on receipt of the returned jewellery in good order, and only to the original credit card used to pay for the item. Customers are responsible for posting the items correctly by Royal Mail Special delivery or other insured service that requires a signature. I am not responsible for items lost in transit.

Bespoke jewellery commissions

When ordering a piece of bespoke jewellery a non-refundable deposit of 50% will be required upon acceptance of the commission, with full payment due upon completion of the item. Any changes that you wish to make to the commission must be made in writing and be agreed by me in writing.

I am unable to offer refunds for bespoke commissions. The customer retains the right to cancel a bespoke commission at any point but any material and production costs incurred will remain payable.

Photographs

All photographs on this website are as representative of the items as possible, however, some items may vary slightly as all items are handmade and some incorporate natural gemstones.

Caring for your jewellery at home

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes with the exposure to air and the environment as well as perfumes, lotions & perspiration. Whilst the fine silver that I use does not tarnish as much or as quickly, it will become discoloured due to exposure to perfumes, lotions & perspiration.

Storing your jewellery properly is important. To avoid damage, keep your jewellery in separate boxes. Catches should be fastened and chains should be stored flat. Wrap individual pieces in acid free tissue and store in the original boxes or in plastic grip-lock bags so that contact with air is minimised.

It is recommended that you remove bracelets, bangles and rings when doing any manual labour, including housework and gardening as well as when exercising.

Gemstones require special care. Avoid impact against hard surfaces. Handle gems and pearls as little as possible; the natural oils on your skin can dull the stone. Jewellery set with gems can be brought to life by careful cleaning with a soft brush and warm soapy water, however this should not be used for items containing opals or pearls.

Try not to allow items containing silk to get wet.

Jewellery oxidised black: This is a chemical process that colours the surface of silver. With wear, the colour will often diminish or fully rub off in highly touched areas. The time scale over which this might occur cannot be determined as each of us wears jewellery differently.

I offer my clients a re-oxidising service, from £35 depending on the item, and including return by Special Delivery in the UK. If you are outside the UK, please contact me and I will be happy to help.

If you have any questions on how to look after your new jewellery, please contact me and I will be happy to advise.

Professional cleaning or refurbishment service

We all know that our precious pieces deserve to retain their shimmering lustre, however taking the time to clean jewellery on top of everyday life can often become an extra task that gets forgotten. I offer my clients a cleaning or refurbishment service.

The service costs from £35 depending on the item and includes cleaning, basic surface refurbishment and return by Special Delivery in the UK. Please allow up to 14 working days for cleaning and basic surface refurbishment.

Please enquire about costs and timings if you are based outside the UK.
